Barbara Dressel

eMED International was established in 2004 by Barbara Dressel, who currently serves as CEO of the company. An executive, business consultant and professional speaker, her expertise is in business management, strategic planning and marketing. The idea for eMED came from personal experience. While traveling to Turkey with an associate, Barbara was on hand when her companion became seriously ill and needed immediate medical treatment. However, he did not have any personal information with him, such as the names of prescription drugs or allergies. Because of the time difference, there was no way to get in touch with anyone at home to obtain the critically needed data. When Barbara returned home, she consulted with doctors about creating an indestructible information card listing all the personal health information that would be useful in an emergency or when seeking medical attention. The result is the eMED health card.
